Pendleton Roundup 2019

Last year was my first year attending the Pendleton Roundup and we lucked out, getting front row seats… and I didn’t know if “regular” people were allowed to bring cameras so I didn’t bring mine. And I regretted it. Rodeos are my favorite to photograph, there’s always so much action and color and it’s such a fun challenge.

So this year, after another internal debate, I brought my camera. And I’m SO GLAD I did!

The other cool thing about the Pendleton Roundup this year is we had friends from Wisconsin who we’d connected with on Instagram fly out to stay with us and go to the rodeo with us. We had so much fun!

Without further ado, here is a post full of photos from the Pendleton Roundup 2019. We started with the parade:

Then the rodeo. I took the rodeo photos from our seats, using my 85mm.

Can you tell I love our flag?

Indian relay horse, racing without a rider.
This horse slipped on the grass…
And was pretty embarrassed to have landed on his face.
Maybe next time he won’t run from the pickup horse.
Maybe he will.
This little gal won the women’s race.
I wasn’t in a good spot for any timed event photos.
This is my favorite photo of the whole weekend.

And then some fun on the farm before our new friends had to fly home.

WELCOME TO THE BLOG

Fueled by equal parts horse hair and passion, I spend my days capturing the kinds of images that make you stop, smile and ask time to please slow down. Your story, your love, is beautiful and I can’t wait to capture it in images you will treasure for years to come. I believe in real moments and heartfelt conversations on the front porch. In the kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments together.
