Introducing: Tammy

The normal gestation window for a horse is 320-365 days. Most people calculate due dates based off of the average of 340 days gestation. Last year we had five mares foal and no one went over 345 days… so when Timber rolled over 350 days, then 355 days, we were more than anxious for a baby.

Finally, on day 356, her body started showing signs that she was thinking about having a baby. Her rear end muscles started to relax, and her teats had little bits of “wax” hanging off of them. We knew we were close.

At 9:30 Friday night, Timber delivered a healthy filly with legs for days.

She likes to try to master those long legs, hopping and running, much to Timber’s dismay. And Timber, true to boss-mare form, is a bossy mama. Her baby better fall in line, or else.

It’s fun to watch.

WELCOME TO THE BLOG

Fueled by equal parts horse hair and passion, I spend my days capturing the kinds of images that make you stop, smile and ask time to please slow down. Your story, your love, is beautiful and I can’t wait to capture it in images you will treasure for years to come. I believe in real moments and heartfelt conversations on the front porch. In the kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments together.
