Introducing: Ronnie Dunn

Saturday morning, March 14th, we woke up to snow and the coldest morning we’d felt in the last 6+ weeks. We knew the weekend was forecast to be icky so we had already planned to take the horse trailer into town (45 minutes from home) to get new tires on it. We rolled into Les Schwab Tire Center at about 10:00 in the morning, were all fixed up by 10:30 (record time!), stopped by the store to get dog food, grabbed a quick, early lunch and headed home.

I ran inside and let the dogs out while Kelly was parking the trailer, then I met him out there to pretend to help unhook the trailer but I was really playing with baby goats (typical).

Now, if you don’t know, I’m straight up blind. I wear glasses or contacts 24/7 because I can’t see without them. Arguably, I can’t see very well with them, either and I tend to not trust my vision (also, I have no depth perception).

So I look out in the corrals because I see movement that looks kind of out of place. And then I walk out there because it’s too far away (see above paragraph). And there, in the mud, in a panel, is a little baby horse and Sandra is pawing the mud around him and Trisha is smelling his butt curiously (because it has ended up on her side of the panel).

What we assume is that Sandra foaled in the mud instead of in her nice bedded down stall (that part is obvious), licked the foal dry and when he was attempting to stand he fell in the panel and got himself nice and stuck. We also assume he wasn’t there for long.

Anyway, all that to say… she foaled on a Saturday and we STILL missed it!

Meet: Ronnie Dunn.

WELCOME TO THE BLOG

Fueled by equal parts horse hair and passion, I spend my days capturing the kinds of images that make you stop, smile and ask time to please slow down. Your story, your love, is beautiful and I can’t wait to capture it in images you will treasure for years to come. I believe in real moments and heartfelt conversations on the front porch. In the kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments together.
