I don’t know how long this season of life will last, but it is not lost on me that I’m living in a way that I’ve prayed for for so long.
I’ve done more, frequent, enjoyable riding in the last four weeks than I’ve done in the last four years. I’ve re-learned how much I love to ride, that I don’t always have to have a pretty mountain lake destination (although I sure would like to experience that again, maybe next year?)… just me, my horse, and my camera can make for a darn fun few hours. Even when lots of things go a little bit wrong.
I love it when Kelly joins me, those are my absolute favorite days! But my own company isn’t too shabby, either, and I’ve regained a lot of confidence riding alone. There’s a freedom in it – even if nobody else can or wants to go riding, I can still go. I am still capable of going alone.
I pretty much always take my camera riding with me. Sometimes I come home with 20 photos, sometimes I come home with 120 photos, it just depends on the day and the horse – horsemanship first, photos second. But I wanted to document some of my recent rides in one place, so here is an onslaught of photos!
