Word of the Year

I have a really amazing friend (Jessie) who recently posted on her Instagram about choosing a word of the year to focus on. I’ve never heard of this before but it’s been on my mind ever since I read her post… her word is “surrender” and I have no doubt she will focus her attention on her journey of surrendering to God.

So after much deliberation, I’ve settled on my own “word of the year”:
Patience.

I went through quite a few… faith, hope, trust, and courage. But I decided patience would be most fitting for me this year.

I’ve already had to be patient in a less-than-ideal living situation until I could find a way to change it and get my own place (an apartment in town).

I’m patiently waiting for my house to sell so I can buy a place of my own and bring all my critters back home. I have to be patient while I miss them terribly. Sometimes I miss them so much I literally ache with sadness.

In my “prior life”, I used to spend countless hours with my animals. Not just riding my horses but loving them. Not just feeding my goats and my donkey, but loving them. It’s been a difficult adjustment to love them from afar.

So… patience. Something I’ve always struggled with in my day-to-day life and now have to learn to encompass in an especially trying time in my life.

I can do this.

“Patience is not the ability to wait, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting.”

  • My word for the year is conquer … I want to be a conqueror and keep moving forward in a meaningful way!

  • Patience, you come by it honestly. It has never been one of my greatest traits in life.

  • I always joke that patience is not one of my virtues. So I understand the difficulty! I like the idea of focusing on one word for the year.

  • Patience…how does a person get better at a task, practice, practice, practice. I had a very Long journey with this one. Look for God in everything, he is there and will give you perspective as you learn. Know that it is a journey and he is with you All the way! Developing a sense of humor helps a Lot! 😀
You’re a wonderful young lady and I know he has good plans for You! ♡

WELCOME TO THE BLOG

Fueled by equal parts horse hair and passion, I spend my days capturing the kinds of images that make you stop, smile and ask time to please slow down. Your story, your love, is beautiful and I can’t wait to capture it in images you will treasure for years to come. I believe in real moments and heartfelt conversations on the front porch. In the kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments together.
