Simple Appreciation

It’s no secret I have had some major struggles lately.

It’s no secret I have made some questionable decisions.

And it’s no secret that I am blessed with the most loving, authentic, loyal friend I ever could have imagined.

Let me introduce you to Brie.

We met… I don’t even remember how long ago. We were both living outside of Ellensburg, WA and I had seen her riding down our road with the world’s cutest puppy. Now, I’ve done a lot growing and changing in the past few years but at that time the thought of introducing myself to a stranger out-of-the-blue was pretty much terrifying. So when I finally got up the courage to march across the street (I’m sure that’s how it looked) and say “Hi, I’m Briana” nothing could have prepared me for her to parrot back, “Hi, I’m Brianna.”

I thought to myself, “How rude! She’s mimicking me. What a weirdo.”

I’ll always be grateful for those 2 minutes of insane courage it took for me to introduce myself because… she’s my favorite weirdo.

We went on a few rides, got to know each other a bit, and I remember feeling really disappointed when she was moving to Yakima, WA. Then, shortly after that, I moved to Deer Park, WA.

But we kept in touch and when a work opportunity brought her my direction, I was ecstatic! Oh, and then we lived together. And it was the best year-ish ever.

Brie moved to Eastern Oregon almost a year ago to once again follow her beautiful heart and I don’t even have the words to tell you how much I miss her.

Then I took a sledgehammer to my world and it did some falling apart.

Some people come into your life and change it for a brief while.

But some people come into your life and touch your soul and you can’t imagine life without them. Brie is one of those people for me.

She’s the adventure to my homebody, the voice of reason to my overthinking, the humor to my recent sadness.

Brie and Landon currently have my goats and donkey… and if I have to be without them, there is no place I would rather they be. When I was in a pickle needing to move again, they drove 6 hours, helped me move, stayed the night, and drove 6 hours back home.

I’m grateful for her.

And I can’t wait to continue on this adventure called life with her. I know there are many more laughs, rides, and pictures in our future.

(Don’t worry Landon, I’m not stealing her!)

“Some people arrive and make such a beautiful impact on your life that you can barely remember what life was like without them.”

WELCOME TO THE BLOG

Fueled by equal parts horse hair and passion, I spend my days capturing the kinds of images that make you stop, smile and ask time to please slow down. Your story, your love, is beautiful and I can’t wait to capture it in images you will treasure for years to come. I believe in real moments and heartfelt conversations on the front porch. In the kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments together.
