I Make Mistakes

Do you follow me on Instagram? Are we Facebook friends? Do you know me in “real life”?

Have you judged me?

It’s okay, you can be honest. I’ve made some mistakes in my life. I’ve judged me.

But can you also give me grace? I could use some grace.

Because here’s the deal: I am not perfect. My life is not perfect. I don’t want to pretend any differently… I’m not interested in being superficial to gain followers or likes or even friends. I’m a real person with real problems making real mistakes.

Just like you, I’d bet. Only I’ve somewhat chosen to air my “dirty laundry” in the name of community and healing.

Sure, I’ve received some hurtful messages and comments from strangers and friends alike. But do you know what else I’ve received? Messages of thanks. Thanks for sharing my story and helping other people remember they are not alone in whatever battle they are facing.

Sometimes people just need to feel like they’re not alone. And if sharing my story, sharing my mistakes can help with that… well, that’s a blessing to someone, somewhere.

“Mistakes have the power to turn you into something better than you were before.”

  • I follow you on Instagram, never comment… just admire from a far (Wisconsin). Your blog is a cool addition. Love your pictures, love your quotes, love your love of your critters. (Piper cracks me up.) I am almost 20 years your senior, yet some how it doesn’t seem that far apart. I totally enjoy your sass and sense of humor. Just wanted you to know, you are not alone and not all judge. Shake off the ones who do, one never knows how it feels to walk in another’s shoes.. This season of your life may not be ideal, but this too shall pass. Have faith… and pizza! Thanks for sharing all you do.

WELCOME TO THE BLOG

Fueled by equal parts horse hair and passion, I spend my days capturing the kinds of images that make you stop, smile and ask time to please slow down. Your story, your love, is beautiful and I can’t wait to capture it in images you will treasure for years to come. I believe in real moments and heartfelt conversations on the front porch. In the kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments together.
